WAXING

How long does the hair have to be before I can wax? 

More than half an inch long to be able to extract the root, if the hair is very short it won't be extracted (or some will, and others won't, and there won't be good results in the waxing.) That's why it's better to wait until it's a little longer  


Does the hair get thinner after waxing?

Yes, the hair thins considerably after the first waxing, it comes out softer. 


Should I go to my appointment shaved?

No, because in order to be able to wax from the root, the hair must be more than half a cm long.


How long does it take for hair to grow? 

It depends on each hair, but on average it takes more than two weeks for the hair to start coming out, the growth is slow and it comes out in less quantity as time goes by. 


How often should I shave? 

In facial areas it is recommended every 3-4 weeks.
Body or bikini, every 4 weeks
The underarm waxing, at first, every two weeks, and little by little the period of time that the hair grows lasts longer.


Does hair grow thicker?

No, on the contrary, it weakens and gets thinner.


Does the wax irritate the skin?

Thanks to the depilation technique and natural wax we use, the skin is not really irritated. We also use post depilatory products to care for your skin depending on the area: masks, aloe vera, soothing lotions, moisturizers, sunscreen.


Can I expose myself to the sun after waxing?

No, after depilation it is recommended not to expose yourself to the sun for at least 24 hours and for more sensitive areas such as the face, at least 36 hours. It is also recommended to use sunscreen every day.


How do you dig out the hair?

If you have buried hair we recommend gently exfoliating the area to be waxed 2 to 3 times a week, so your hair can easily come out. It is not recommended to exfoliate the same day of the appointment, at least 1 or 2 days before to avoid irritation.


Can children get waxed? 

Yes, from the age of 10 onwards they can start with basic areas such as armpits, moustache or half legs.


Can I wax if I'm pregnant?

Yes, it can even be waxed days before delivery.


How should I dress? 

The type of clothing is not a requirement, we will provide you with a disposable gown and thong if necessary,


Should I shower before attending my waxing?

You will surely feel more comfortable, however, if it is not possible for you, we have here disposable wet towels for your use. 


Does waxing hurt?

Much less than you might think. It's a moment of a kind of burning, but it passes quickly. Most people see it as something totally tolerable.


What can I wear so it doesn't hurt?

In case your pain threshold is really low, we have two recommendations, you can apply a lotion that you will find in Artepil, it is called "Tendskin". You apply it before your waxing, it will make the root softer and allows for easier removal and therefore less discomfort. Another option is the product "Emla" that you can find in pharmacies.  It is an anesthetic cream that you can put on the area 30 minutes before waxing, and remove it with the wet towels prior to waxing. 


Is it laser or wax?

We use a natural technique that is very gentle on the skin and will gradually weaken the hair. It is a relaxing experience, and the results are excellent, with no contraindications.

Is the wax hot or cold?

The wax that we handle is hot, which has excellent benefits for the skin, besides being therapeutic, it makes that when applying it the pore dilates a little, and the hair comes out from the root, helping an excellent waxing. 


What types of bikini waxes do you handle?

Normal Bikini:  Waxing is the removal of the hair that can come out of a small bikini.  
Latin Bikini:  This is the normal bikini wax, but it also includes waxing between the buttocks. . 
Brazilian Bikini: It is the depilation of all the pubic hair, including lips, between lips and between buttocks. (You can even choose by name: Bermuda Triangle, Martini Cup, Landing Strip, Postage Stamp, Mohawk, or Heart. It all depends on what the hair allows).


Why does the hair ingrown?

They are rebellious hairs that, after shaving or waxing, grow in a different direction from the rest. Instead of coming out of the skin, they get tangled up and grow underneath it, or come out and get buried again, causing the skin to swell up a bit and small “lumps” appear.


What can be done to prevent ingrown hair?   

It is best to exfoliate the area 2 or 3 times a week, either with a clumpy scrub before or after bathing.  The coffee bean peel with coconut oil before the bath will leave the skin soft and moisturized.


How do you dig out the hair?   

It depends on where the ingrown hair is located:
Legs and arms: Use a Pomania fiber, which we have for sale. Gently exfoliate dry in a circular motion, and see how easily the buried hair comes out. It is important that it is soft and dry (before the bath, with the skin very dry).
Bikini or face: Use Tenskin, it is an excellent lotion sold by Artepil, to remove and even prevent buried hair in sensitive areas such as bikini or face.  Apply daily after bathing, directly only where the buried hair is located.  In a few days you will have results. 

MASSAGES IN PUERTO VALLARTA

Can I take a massage if I'm pregnant?

Yes, we have a special massage for the mother-to-be, it is the prenatal massage that can be enjoyed within the 4th and 8th month of gestation, as long as there is no risk.   No other massage can be taken at this time, neither before the 4th month nor after the 8th month.  


How should I dress for the massage?

As you like it is fine.  Before the massage you will put all your clothes in a locker and we will provide you with a robe and slippers 


Can couples massage be done in the same cabin?

We have this option, of massages in couple in the same cabin, in the branch of Nuevo Vallarta and the branch of Romantic Zone


Which massage do you recommend?

It depends on the result you would like:
If you are looking for a soft and relaxing massage: Aromatherapy Massage or Swedish Massage 50 or 75 min.
           i. However, the Aromatherapy massage is more complete, ,since essential oils are applied in the 7             chakras, and this helps to relax, to regulate our emotions, to recover energy and helps with sleep             and digestive problems.

If you want a relaxing but also decontracting massage, and that helps the muscle rest  Balance Massage (mixture of 7 different techniques, including aromatherapy, deep tissue, hot stones, stretching, lymphatic drainage, shiatsu points, reflexology ... for something is one of the favorite massages). 75 or 90min.

If you like strong massage, that relieves muscle tension in depth: Deep Tissue Massage 75min or 90min. 

If you enjoy hot therapies, and muscle and emotional relief: Hot Stone Massage 90min.
If you are a lover of good therapeutic massage, and you are looking for a different one: Vid massage 75 or 90 min, is a massage with Lomi lomi technique (work with forearm), using touches of red wine, and grape seed oil, which makes this massage an experience.  

If you are looking for relaxation, integral well-being, and you love foot massage: Vital Massage 90min.  It combines an excellent back massage, with an excellent reflexology therapy in feet, for a prolonged sensation of health. 

If you are looking for a break especially in the back area: Back Massage 25 min or 40 min.

If you want to rest only the leg area: Tired Legs Massage 40 min.

If you are looking for a relaxing therapy that also brings wellbeing: Reflexology Foot Massage 50 min.

FACIALS IN PUERTO VALLARTA

What facial do you reccomend?

If this is the first time we are going to treat you, or it has been a long time since you have had a facial, we will initially recommend a Deep Cleaning Facial, to remove deep impurities.  
Or, if you normally use a good support product at home, and you don't have a problem with sores, or deep impurities, and what you need is a skin renewal, then we recommend a Detox Facial to detoxify and renew.

I've already had a deep cleansing facial, what follow-up will I have?
If your skin tends to have impurities or blemishes, we can follow up with a deep cleansing facial once a month.
If your skin feels malnourished or devitalized, we can continue with the Moisturizing or Detox facial.
If you want to look more youthful, you can alternate your Deep Cleansing or Detox with an Anti-Aging Facial. 
If you need a Total Renewal, then we will recommend that one: Total Renewal, which combines a Deep Cleaning Facial with an Anti-Aging Facial to maximize results.


How often is a facial recommended?

Once a month, unless your therapist makes a different recommendation.

Can I go to the beach after having a Deep Cleaning Facial? 

No, we recommend 2 to 3 days without going out in the sun, only if it is very necessary. It is super important to use sunscreen because your skin is sensitive and could stain.  We would not even recommend it after any facial.

 What products are used in the cabin? 

All our products are specifically used in the cabin of the highest quality.  Each facial uses a specific product for your skin type

Do you do acrylic nails?

We do not handle acrylic nails, but we do handle gel application. 


Why is the gel charged separately?  

It is a completely different service than a polish application, it is a higher cost product, the application requires the use of special drying lamps, and more time is required for the application.    


ANOTHER FREQUENTLY ASK QUESTIONS

How can you lighten the armpits, between the legs or between the buttocks?

We have an excellent serum for these areas, it can even be used on the face, it is called "Day & Night Fading Serum".   Excellent results are obtained. How to use: It is a two-phase serum, so it has to be mixed before use. The first time, test on the forearm before using it on other areas of the body, to check that there is no allergy to any component. After that, preferably only use it at night.

APPOINTMENTS

How much tolerance do I have to get to my appointment? 

We do not handle tolerance because the punctuality of our services is very important, if for some reason you can not get to your appointment on time, call us as soon as possible, and we will gladly confirm if we can move or delay your appointment.

Can I use my points with service packages?

No. You cannot combine promotions and benefits.  In this case I recommend you use the package and save your points for when you take services without any current promotion


Are there any discounts on products?  

Sometimes, we do have special promotions on products. 


Can I use points to pay for products?

No. Points can only be redeemed on services at list prices.


Can I buy the hair removal packages and use them in two different appointments, for example, the legs and Brazilian package?

These packages are designed to be used on the same day, so they cannot be used on different days. 


Why do you charge me a fee for not coming to my appointment?

When an appointment is made we communicate the Cancellation Policy in which we express the importance of having the consideration of calling us at least 2 hours in advance in case of moving or canceling any service or the entire appointment, so that in this way our therapist is not left without work and without the possibility of attending another client..  

Which therapist do you recommend who is just as good?

We must remember that all our therapists are excellent, so they all go through an intense training process, but telling the client this does not give them the same confidence as recommending them to someone else.  In these cases, ask what you like about the person you want to see, and recommend the one who is available at the time the client wants.  And put in notes in case the client is looking for something special "wants a lot of pressure" "likes the waxing service to be fast" etc. 

How do the Spa Service Packages work? 

You can select one or more services from each category (minimum 3 categories).  The categories are: Massages, Facials, Waxing, Mani/Pedicure, Body Treatments.
Ex: Massage, Facial, Pedicure
Ex: Hair removal, Treatment, Facial


First appointment client discounts, only applies to clients on their first appointment at Artepil. 

If you have previously attended Fluvial, and now go to Marina, you can no longer apply for the first time discount. Only applies the 1st time discount to customers who are not in the database, and confirm that it is their first time in Artepil. 

CANCELLATION POLICY

In case of moving or canceling scheduled services, please let us know at least 2 hours in advance to avoid the 30% surcharge and to avoid our therapist being out of work.

We appreciate your punctuality, please attend your appointment with face masks, no companions and no children.
Your temperature will be taken upon arrival and if your temperature is 37 or higher, for everyone's safety, we will not be able to attend to you.

For your health, we cannot serve clients with hypertension or diabetes until further notice from the government.

Customers who pay online will be granted a 5% discount.


Commitment & Online Payment Policy

In case of change of time and/or date of the appointment, this must be done at least 2 hours before the appointment at 322 2259418.

In case of change or cancellation with less than 2 hours notice, or not attending the appointment, it will be taken as a No Show. The service will be paid for, there will be no refund, nor will it be possible to change the date/time.


Appoinment with Online Payment

When you arrive at your appointment, the receptionist will ask you for the reservation code to confirm your payment. Please keep it or write it down.

The reservation code can be found in the appointment confirmation email and in the payment confirmation email.
